Minor Waiver Policy for Practice and Race Events

Our insurance REQUIRES that we have BOTH parents/guardians present in order to register a minor for practice or racing, or, submit proper documentation.  If BOTH parents can NOT be present at the sign up window, we are required to have BOTH parents complete the following.  By completing the following three steps, we can keep an annual waiver on file and allow only one parent be present to sign child up for any event.  Without completing the following three steps, BOTH parents will be required to be at sign up.  Please note, without the following documents, OR, BOTH parents present during sign up, the child will not be permitted to ride (unless they provide a notarized letter from BOTH parents authorizing another adult (aged 25+) to act as legal guardian for the day- See “Temporary Authorized Adult” section below).

IF YOUR CHILD IS UNDER 18 AND BOTH PARENTS WILL NOT BE PRESENT AT SIGN UP:
YOU MUST PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION, OR THEY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RIDE.

  • 1- Print out and bring the following to a notary:
  • 2- Take it to a Notary Public, have both parents or Legal Guardians of minor(s) fill out the form completely and have notarized (notary seal/stamp required for signature witnessing)
  • BE SURE BOTH PARENTS COMPLETE THIS STEP!  If a notary isn’t open for any reason, you may use an online notary such as notorize.com.  (Grandparents are not considered legal guardians unless appointed by a court order.)
  • 3- Bring ALL documentation to the track, where we will file and update your computer profile to then allow EITHER parent/guardian to bring their child to ride all season without needing the other parent/guardian being there.

IF  PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN CANNOT BE PRESENT- TEMPORARY AUTHORIZED ADULT IS NEEDED TO ACT AS LEGAL GUARDIAN FOR DAY

    • Complete the following Letter of Temporary Guardianship stating the name of the authorized adult (aged 25 years or older).  This letter must be signed, dated and notarized by BOTH legal guardians each time the rider/racer participates.  OR, you can date it for the year to provide a Letter of Temporary Guardianship on an annual basis. Minors without BOTH parents present, proper documentation (3 steps above) or having a notarized Letter of Temporary Guardianship will NOT be permitted to ride.  No exceptions.
    • Take Letter of Temporary Guardianship to a Notary Public and have it notarized (notary seal/stamp required). If a notary isn’t open for any reason, you may use an online notary such as notorize.com
    • Be sure that BOTH parents (or Legal Guardian(s)) sign this form as well and include the name of the Temporary Authorized Adult (see link above).
    • Bring the notarized waivers (above), letter of Temporary Authorized Adult and a copy of the authorized adult’s drivers license, and the minor will be permitted to obtain a Ride Pass.
