About Field of Dreams
Field of Dreams was originally founded in 2014, with Richard Schmidt as one of the original founding partners. After a short time with the company, Rich stepped away to pursue other opportunities within the off-road industry. But as a lifelong leader in the sport, staying away from the track was never going to be permanent.
When the original partners sold the facility and the second ownership group elevated the property to new heights, the timing finally aligned. Rich and his family proudly purchased the park and assumed sole ownership, bringing Field of Dreams full circle under one dedicated, long-term vision.
Today, Field of Dreams Off Road Vehicle Park is a family-owned and operated New Jersey off-road vehicle and motocross park led by Rich alongside his wife Tammy, and their sons Rich and Travis. Together, the Schmidt family is committed to preserving the park’s legacy while expanding opportunities for NJ riding, motocross training, ATV riding, and responsible off-road recreation for many years to come.
Leadership & Experience
Richard Schmidt (#775) brings decades of experience to the operation of Field of Dreams. He previously served as Track Manager of Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ, before helping found Field of Dreams in 2014. He is also the owner of Motovation Motocross Instruction and NJ ATV Tours.
Rich successfully obtained full approvals for a large-scale project known as Off Road Vehicle Adventures in Williamstown, NJ — a testament to his persistence and ability to navigate complex state regulations in the off-road industry.
His career uniquely blends professional racing, rider education, facility management, and safety instruction — a combination rarely found in one individual — and that depth of experience now drives the future of Field of Dreams.

A New Jersey State Certified Teacher
A motocross instructor since 1993
A former professional motocross racer (1994–2000)
Certified through USMCA, MSF, ASI, and ROHVA
A former NJ State Certified EMT
The sole “Off Road Vehicle Professional” member of the Civilian Advisory Board for the New Jersey State Police, where he helped improve multiple state laws benefiting the off-road community
With involvement in the off-road industry dating back to the mid-1980s, Rich’s knowledge, leadership, and passion are embedded into every aspect of Field of Dreams Off Road Vehicle Park — making it one of the most professionally operated off-road parks in the country.
